2-1-2018 Because of lack of sales, I am having to discontinue Deetail Patti-goop and Superplastic Patti-goop. I sold the Deetail for 11 years, and the Superplastic for 4 years and they were never big sellers. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Patti-Goop works like Plasti-goop, which is a liquid plastic made for baking in Creepy Crawler molds, so that you can make your own toys. It comes from the same manufacturer as Mattel used in the 1960's. It was reformulated in 2018 to comply with new federal regulations, so the reminiscent smell is different but still has that special rubbery feel, that so many of us remember from our childhoods. Patti-Goop works great in the original Thingmaker ovens from the 60's, or the newer Bugmaker ovens.
Patti-Goop works with other brands of goop and in any oven made for baking goop. I formulate and mix all of the colors by hand. In 1964, Mattel came out with a toy called Creepy Crawlers. Children poured a liquid plastic, called Plasti-goop, into detailed metal molds, transferred the molds with a metal handle into the hot Thingmaker oven for baking, cooled the mold in a water-filled cooling tray, and peeled out a wiggling, squiggling toy! That was quite a concept at the time. A toy that let you make-your-own toys! It still fascinates me to this day! Seeing a liquid turn into a solid, watching the different colors of ''goop'' swirl together to create new colors. What fun! It was my favorite toy as a kid, and countless others have written to me to tell me it was their favorite too.
Also in 1964, the VAC-U-MAKER was introduced by Mattel. First you would heat up a colored plastic sheet, then vacuum, or suck it down with a hand pump over a hard black plastic mold, creating a toy. There was one special and rare metal mold that came with this play pak that had turtle and beetle legs that you made with rubbery Plasti-goop. Then you made the turtle and beetle body with the plastic sheets, and glued them together.
From 1965-1969, Mattel came out with a dozen more play paks. Some were geared more towards girls, such as Fun Flowers, Dollymaker, and Jillions of Jewels. Others had separate heads, bodies, legs, arms, tongues and tails so you could make your own creature creations and mix and match body parts, such as, Mini-Dragons, Eeeeks!, and Zoofie Goofies. You could make colossal creepies with Giant Creepy Crawlers, or soldiers and their equipment with Fighting Men, or decorate your pencils with Creeple Peeple. Have frightful fun, and make your own shrunken heads, eyeballs and fangs with the Fright Factory. Make cross-stitch patterns with Picadoos. Charlie Brown and the gang even got in on the fun with the Super Cartoon Maker.
There were several individual molds that were only sold on cards, so you could make Super Heros like Batman and Superman, and characters like Tarzan and The Green Hornet. You could make a lizard a yard long with Slitherees, or play jokes on your friends and squirt them with water using Squirtles, or make your own body parts and create a creature with Gangly-Danglies.
Some Super Paks were also made that combined three or more types of molds in one, such as the Triple Thingmaker, Boy's World Thingmaker, Girl's World Thingmaker, Every Thingmaker, and Super Maker Pak.
In 1968-1970, Mattel made three types of Injector Play Paks. These used 2-part metal molds and injectable plastic pellets called Plastix. The plastic was heated and melted in the Injector machine, then by pushing down on the handle, the oozing plastic was injected into the molds. Western World made cowboys, Indians and horses, Hot Wheels Factory made custom cars, and Indy Trail Plus Pak made a camper, truck, trailer and an Indy race car.
In 1968 Topper Toys came out with a new line of toys similar to Mattel's Creepy Crawlers, but it used larger molds, larger baking ovens and a new type of goop called Superplastic. It was much tougher and inflexible, not rubbery. One type called Johnny Toymaker made cars, trucks, boats and a very large spider. For the girls, there were Rings 'n Things, Bags 'n things, and Specs 'n Things. Then there was the Motorized Monster Maker, featuring Dr. Shriek, Bobo Bones, Hairy Harry, Willy Weird Wolf, and Galaxon. First you would make the body parts and assemble them, wind up the monster with a winding key, then you would turn the switch on their backs to the ON position, and they actually walked!
In 1978, Mattel came out with the Thingmaker II, once again featuring Creepy Crawlers and Flower Fun. This used a different kind of goop that you heated first, and then poured into green plastic molds.
In 1992, Toymax rocked our world, with a Creepy Crawler toy comeback. They made hundreds more molds and dozens of play paks. They also came out with a new type of goop called Goop FX for putting details into your creepies and baking all the colors at once without them running together.
Jakks Pacific (Flying Colors) took over making molds and play paks in 2002. They started with 2 oversized bug molds, then came out with some licensed characters like SpongeBob Square Pants, Hello Kitty, Star Wars, and Pokemon. They also made some mold paks in small boxes and resold a lot of Toymax molds.
